William L. Gaskins – Principal
William L Gaskins is the General Partner and Founder of TGP Ventures. He has been involved in all phases of the fund’s development.
In early 2010, Mr. Gaskins formed TGP Ventures, as he saw a new paradigm shift in the real estate markets. Starting with an initial capital commitment of $100,000, he has grown discretionary assets under management to over $250mm. TGP Ventures portfolio includes physical real estate across all product types and opportunistic trust deeds. Mr. Gaskins has realized steady, double digit returns for his partnerships in 12 consecutive years.
Mr. Gaskins began his career as an analyst at a local San Diego long-short hedge fund – Carmel Capital Partners, LLC. He was engaged principally in equity modeling and research.
After Carmel Capital, Mr. Gaskins went to work for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Los Angeles, CA. His primary duties were auditing and financial reporting for some of the worlds’ most influential hedge funds & private-equity funds. His clients included Oaktree Capital Management (AUM – $164 B), Canyon Partners (AUM - $18 B), and Wilshire Associates (AUM – $11 B).
Mr. Gaskins graduated Cum Laude from the University of San Diego (BA – Accounting & Finance). He is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Tyler Zakovich – Principal
Prior to forming TGP Ventures in 2010, Tyler worked as an analyst at Pacifica Real Estate Fund I, a 250 million dollar private equity fund focusing on the acquisition and repositioning of distressed assets. He was responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment properties. His primary duties involved financial modeling, research, and deal structuring.
Tyler also spent time in the wealth management field prior to TGP. He worked for a San Diego based fee-only advisor and has an extensive knowledge of the equity and bond markets.
Tyler graduated from the University of San Diego with a major in Business Administration (emphasis on Real Estate & Finance) and a minor in International Business
He currently holds his California and Colorado real estate licenses along with a FINRA Series 65 certification.
GREG PEYSER – PRINCIPAL
Greg joined TGP as a principal after a decade of successfully owning, operating & consulting for several CPG (consumer packaged goods) businesses. Always the entrepreneur, Greg's passion for real estate as side hustle resulted in several successful real estate ventures, including - luxury ground-up construction, multi-unit retail management, value-add fix n flip & land acquisition/entitlement. Having raised debt & equity capital via a multitude of structures, Greg is leading the charge on investor relations and business development. Greg’s background will ensure TGP is built to scale during the next phase of asset growth.
Greg is currently a board member of Rockwood Ag Services, a Southern California based Agri-Chemical business specializing in crop protection & fertilizer procurement & sales.
Greg previously worked on Wall Street where he was a registered representative with his Series 7 & Series 63 licenses. He worked at Barclays Capital, Creditex & Phoenix Partners Group in currency & credit divisions. He graduated with a BA in Economics from Johns Hopkins University with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Management. While at Hopkins, he was a captain / all-american member of the Division I Men's lacrosse team - winning a national championship in 2005. He also played professionally for five years.
JOHN BALCH - SENIOR ANALYST
John joined the team in 2021 and is responsible for underwriting, financial modeling, and structuring deals. Before joining, John worked as an analyst for a regional bank underwriting commercial bridge and construction loans. He underwrote $300+ million in loans during his 2.5 years there.
John graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Mathematics (Statistics).
ANGELA STROHECKER – Operations Manager
Angela joined the firm in 2017 and is responsible for all back-office operations, client communication, and office management.
AIDA OJEDA – PROCESSING
Aida joined the team in 2015 and is responsible for loan processing in the TGP Opportunity Funds. Mrs. Ojeda has been working in the mortgage industry since 2003 as a loan processor. She moved to the private money side in 2009.
Mrs. Ojeda graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a BS in Business Administration. She is also a licensed mortgage broker and notary in California.
